June 4-5 PigDog Beach Volleyball Classic
The 2nd annual PigDog Beach Volleyball Classic will take place Saturday, June 4 and Sunday, June 5. Featured courts will be located at Morey’s PigDog Beach Bar located on the beach directly behind Morey’s Mariners Pier, with additional courts on the adjacent Schellenger Avenue and Lincoln Avenue beaches. Teams of two will compete in various divisions based on age/skill level, while teams of six participate in a recreational division. Top level players compete for prize money, and all lower divisions play for merchandise prizes. In addition, Sunday’s junior division winners will earn bids to AVP America Junior Nationals. June 16-19 Barefoot Country Music Fest
The Northeast’s largest outdoor country music festival on the beach returns to the Wildwoods in 2022 with the Barefoot Country Music Fest (BCMF), taking place Friday, June 17 through Sunday, June 19, with a kick-off concert scheduled for the evening of Thursday, June 16. The four-day event will host over 30 of country music’s biggest stars and up-and-comers on multiple stages on the beach. July 9 Jersey Shore Spikefest 2.0
Morey’s Piers and Tri-State Roundnet present the newest and fastest net game on the expansive Wildwoods beaches – Jersey Shore Spikefest 2.0. Inspired by elements of volleyball and four-square, Roundnet is quickly becoming one of America’s fastest-growing sports. The game is played between two teams of two people. Players are positioned at 4 points across the net, with partners located and neighboring positions. One player serves the ball across the net to the opposing team member, and the opposing team then has 3 hits to return the ball to the net. After the serve, there are no boundaries of play. Players are free to run, set, and spike the ball from anywhere around the net. Play continues until a team fails to return the ball or the ball hits a rim piece, at which point the play ends, and the other team receives 1 point.
Spikefest 2.0 will be held at Morey’s PigDog Beach Bar, where spectators and participants can enjoy fantastic drinks and world-famous BBQ without ever leaving the beach.
